A word game
Game of the week
See how you go with this game, it’s a cracker!!! My PB is 1050 at the moment, see if you can beat it!
And the best tasting ice cream is….
This is it, I know you have all been gagging to see the results of the super-flavoured ice creams!!! Some were even gagging when you were tasting them!
These are the results from the group in the morning…
And these were the results from the group in the afternoon…
Sir Cook-a-lot and his band of merry students
We have had an amazing week cooking up a storm!!! Well, not so much “cooking” as stirring and mixing. We had a basic ice cream recipe that we “enhanced” with a few different flavours, some healthy, some delicious, some deliciously healthy and some…well…you see for yourself! We even had our own secure workstation so that other groups couldn’t see our “secret ingredients”.
Coming up…the results of our taste-testing

Mrs Macdonald – parent/nurse
We were really lucky to have Mrs MacDonald, a parent/nurse, come in and talk to us about our bones and our body. We learnt heaps during the talk such as things like..
Two things to keep healthy: Look what you put into your body and exercise. Jonas
The biggest bone in your body is your femar. Bailey
That there is 206 bones in a adult body. Shay
The most important thing to remember to wash your hands really well, and before you touch anything use hand sanitiser. Josh
Our body?
We are coming up with some interesting things during our Information Saturation time in the afternoons. Check this out!
Kaponga Athletics
We all had a great day at the Kaponga Athletics on Thursday. I think that we had the best performances in the running that I have seen while I have been at Matapu. Well done on the great effort everyone!
Eeeewww…yuck!!!
Looking closely at our nails…not quite as clean as we thought…
Some great work!
We have just completed our reading contracts for Our School, and some of them have been outstanding (even with the odd spelling mistake!!!) I was particularly impressed with Jesse and Tabitha, who had wonderfully presented work and, more importantly, some great detail in their answers.
The Surgery Bus visit
Last Thursday we were fortunate enough to have a look around The Surgery Bus in Hawera. It is amazing what this bus looks like, it is HUGE!
And it’s also amazing what doctors and nurses can do inside it, some of us were lucky enough to sit in the bed and look at how “clean” our nails were.
..and then we had lunch at the park!!!
