Hope this video works…this is what we get up to on conference!!!

It’s great living in Taranaki!!! We have everything…sun, snow, surf and the SHIELD!!! This is a picture of the Ranfurly Shield driving past just before our netball/rugby game against Kaponga.

Ever wondered how solar panels work? Great work Tabitha, you have written some superb explanations on wind, geothermal and tidal energy!

We are starting to look at how we can better our school, after looking at some interesting eco-buildings. We have already identified some concerns we have about what we do at the moment, and we will use these ideas as a base for our following research.

Mr Ward workes for FIL, a chemical company based in Mt Maunganui, who have an award-winning base of operations.  We learnt heaps about their eco-building base…here are a few things about what we learnt…

Mr Phillips from the Hawera District Council made us a visit yesterday and talked about how to eco-pimp your house. We covered heaps of things from learning about insulation to straw houses. Look at our comments to see some of the things we learnt!

Last term we had a day where we learnt all about first aid. We learnt heaps about applying first aid and some students were really successful in putting what we learnt into practise…

And some…well…we tried really hard…

But we all had a few laughs and learnt some things about how to handle ourselves when someone gets hurt…

I think that our publishing on our blogs and in google docs will improve if we become better typers.  We will start using this program, everyone start at level 1, so that we can look at the screen while we type and hopefully pick up more of the mistakes we make as a result.  Try it out!!!
