These reports are coming along great team! As promised, here is the question that I want you to answer. I’ll check the answers on Friday and best answer gets 1000HPS and $60MM! A huge prize!
The question is…
We know that the snake is a reptile and cold blooded, and that it has to spend a while in the sun to keep warm. What advantages does the snake have over warm-blooded animals because it is cold-blooded?
Also, check out the new video with a few speaking Italian. Great for a first effort!

Ok. Over the past week or so I have given you the task to choose the three best sentences for the “Serpentine” word of the week. We FINALLY have a couple of winners. Well done Tayla and Karina for choosing the three sentences that I chose as the best sentences for that word of the week. You each will get $20MM and 200HPS.
In case you were wondering, the three best sentences were Logan, Alyx and Leilani.
“The palm kernel orgers work in a serpentine motion.” I love the way you have worded this sentence Logan and it is really original.
“My brother always looks at me in a serpentine way.” I liked the originality of this sentence, and I can imagine your brother looking at you like that!! I also liked the way you used this word a little differently than the rest of the class.
“Mr C entered a racing car competition and he looked at the race course and it was very serpentine but Mr C was confident and he raced and won of course.” It’s great you are putting some thought into your sentences Leilani and not just writing really short, quick sentences.
Well done you three, you each get $30MM and 300HPS.

Mr C’s sentence: Just as Mr C was about to leap of the bridge he felt a hand on his shoulder. Slowly he turned his head where another man stood, who then asked him to desist his bungy jump as he had forgotten to tie the cord to his feet.

Congratulations to our swimming team who recently competed at the Opunake Swimming Sports last week. We competed extremely well and finished with a number of placings in both the heats and finals.
Congratulatios to Ethan and Shianne who solved the “What is behind Wolf?” quiz. It was a plug believe it or not. Not to sure what part of the plug was in the picture, but well done in solving it! A new “What is behind…” problem will be posted soon. Post your answers to the new “What in the World is Behind Dog?” here!

Drum roll please…
The results are in!! It appears that our friendly octopus has won the poll for our class mascot with 49% of the vote, so I will be keeping my eyes peeled for any octopuses in the shops. Though one thing is missing. I did just put the name “Occy” there as a fill-in as I would rather you all come up with a better name. Post your ideas here, winning entry will get $50MM and 50 house points!

Room 1’s great art work using a printing press. These came out really neat and some of the detail that the students created was brilliant. Can you pick the students???

A big thanks to Mrs Stewart for these terrific pieces of art work. The students used chalk to draw the outlines of their faces, coloured it with crayon then used dye to paint over the pictures. The finished product looks really neat!
Your word of the week is serpentine. It’s a pretty tricky word this time and I hope you can come up with some really inventive and interesting sentences.
Mr C’s sentence: The dance floor was empty until Mr C strutted into the center, the room completely silent barring the pulse of the dance music. It was then when he busted out his serpentine dance moves, twisting and turning like he was possessed by the God of Dancing herself.
You also have until the end of the week to get your votes in for our class mascot. I will close the poll at 3:00pm Friday, so get your votes in before then!
