On Monday the Year 6 students went for a visit to Puke Ariki to discuss how we are going to produce a lizard habitat at our school for our big Enviro Day project coming up on Friday. We learnt heaps about the different types of lizards, their environment and how to trap them and handle them. Congratulations on a fantastic trip year sixes. We also happened to have a look at the resident dinosaur “Sue” while we were there and were amazed at the size of this creature, as you can see by the photos.
For our Enviro day we are also in need of a few supplies, so if you have any…small plastic buckets (with lids), see-through jars, bamboo, cardboard, large rocks, corrugated iron…can you please drop them off at the school. THANKYOU!!
Very impressed with your problem solving everyone, here are some more of the same problems for you to figure out. First person to post all the answers correctly gets their name on the Award page. Well done for solving the Where in the World is WIZ, stay posted for a new challenge! Good luck everyone and keep blogging!!!

Hi everyone and welcome back. I would firstly like to congratulate everyone on a great first week back, good to see you all focussed in class and ready to get learning. Also well done in solving the problems in the problem page (which I am about to move to this part of the blog), but there is one left that no one seems to be able to solve. A clue to the top question posted below is that the answer has to do with religion. Here are four more questions to see if you can solve…

Well done everyone for term 2, in what has been a pretty quick term. Congratulations to Leilani, Alyx and Courtney who are well on their way with their Sustainability studies, they are looking GREAT! Above are some of the 3d shapes we have created this week where we were trying to shade the shapes according to where the light from the sun was shining, and we have another picture of a CO2 car created by Jasmine. I love the colour and design!
Keep an eye out for where WIZ is going to be next, he is still moving around the southern hemisphere last time I checked so get your posts in for that. He will also let you know who the Star is and who gets the Class Certificate this week if you listen in tonight.
There will also be a homework question posted in this forum as well as a challenge in the puzzle page for Room 1 students to complete over the holidays. According to MENZA if you can solve 23 of the 25 questions you are a genius. Parents, you are more than welcome to see how many you can solve and post your results on the problems page.
Have a great holiday everyone and I will see you all next term.
